In terms of WINE, would that still allow things like IDJC and JACK to see it? I thought things in WINE only worked within it - although as I have said I've never really had to use it.ĮDIT: Sorry for being stupid, do I run the Rode software within WINE and then it will appear in my usual Mint JACK settings? Do I change all the audio settings in WINE to pulseaudio? I genuinely don't understand what I am doing to get it working?įurther EDIT: I have just tried reading the wineasio documentation and I have zero clue about what to do? I don't understand it. However I do appreciate the help and assistance, I would never have thought of using WINE, as I usually have no issues without it. I just run my internet radio station so didn't realise I would need something else to make it work. I wouldn't have searched on wineasio as I never knew it existed. That's why sometimes I don't like asking here - this tends to be a last resort rather than me being lazy. Please don't say things like that to me, I was searching for two hours yesterday on Google and Youtube to see if there was a solution. This information was found by a 30 second search and read on google.

Audacity and Ardour might also see it without an additional driver. So I guess my question is, is there anything I can do?Ī WINE solution.

So I guess my question is, is there anything I can do? (I'm actually kicking myself a bit as I have a Mac and PC and didn't think to connect the Rode to either one to check it before returning. If Ubuntu/Mint is USB2 class compliant then the RCP should work with it."

"The RODECaster Pro isn't officially supported with Linux systems, however, the RCP is a USB2 class compliant device that is compatible with software that supports USB2 class compliance.

I did kindly get a reply from Rode this morning which has confused me slightly: I just can't get my head around it not working like every other bit of kit I have ever used.

So I am a little lost and had to send it back (within 2 hours of receiving and after many reboots). The only thing it did appear in was JACK but it didn't assign a Device number like (1,0). Audacity wouldn't pick it up, my onboard sound did not see it so I could change to it like all my other mixers. However (and I know it says Windows/Mac on the box but they all do), I could not get it working in Linux. Having huge troubles with my old USB mixer so went for the Rode Podcaster Pro set up - this would make my life much easier.
